Manitoba

Manitoba is Canada’s central province, home to stunning scenery and diverse ecology, from Arctic tundra in the north around Hudson Bay, to prairies and boreal forests further south. Teachers, ask us how we can organize a trip to Manitoba’s Churchill, on the western shore of Hudson Bay, is also known as the polar bear capital of the world, because of the mass movement of these magnificent creatures from inland to the coast in autumn. This remote area is truly one of the last unspoilt wildernesses. In summer, up to 60 000 whales can be seen, making this the largest concentration of whales in the world. Winnipeg, a living classroom with a thriving arts scene, globally-renowned performance groups, cultural landmarks & museums that can be combined to create immersive experiences. The capital, Winnipeg, hosts the world’s only Museum of Human Rights. The museum has many interactive exhibitions that gradually climb to the Tower of Hope at the top of this architectural masterpiece, where stunning views of the city can be seen. For your students with a love of code, the Hermetic Code Tour of the Manitoba Legislative Building,  where guides uncover trails of clues hidden in the building’s architecture including hieroglyphic inscriptions, numerological codes and Freemasonic symbols that have escaped historians and visitors for nearly 100 years, is a must. Winnipeg has many historical museums, from the hands-on Railway Museum to the nearby Lower Fort Garry Historical Site, a former Hudson Bay Company trading post. It is now a living museum recreating life in the 1800s.There are plenty of outdoor activities too. Take a bison safari at FortWhyte Alive, go to Fun Mountain Waterslide Park, or interact with animal species from all over the world at Assiniboine Park Zoo – Winnipeg’s experiences are as diverse as the province. In winter the Arctic Glacier Winter Park is one of Winnipeg’s best places to be. Skate on 1.2 km of trails, swoosh down the toboggan run or take a crack at Crokicurl! Take a break from the classroom and contact one of our agents today so that we can put together a trip your students will always remember.
